About Mandy & Shellee
Shellee Layne
Singer-songwriter, creative expression guide and co-founder of Do Good Humaning.
After years of touring, teaching music, and helping others find their creative voice, I hit a season (or three) of unraveling—deconstructing my religious upbringing, questioning everything, and stumbling my way into a messy but honest version of healing. One morning, after a week of emotional whiplash, I muttered, “This must be the art of humaning,” and immediately claimed the Instagram handle (because, priorities).
That phrase stuck—and so did the idea that being human is less about perfection and more about presence, self-compassion, and not ghosting yourself when things get weird. After five years of dreaming, processing, and probably 10,000 Marco Polos with Mandy, we turned that idea into a real thing: Do Good Humaning.
My most favorite things to do are creating spaces, tools, and conversations that help people reconnect with their inner world—through music, voice work, reflection, and lots of coffee (obviously).
My love language is a mix of coziness, carbs, air conditioning, and an occasional shot of something stronger. I love French fries, despise sweet tea and keep trying to escape Texas to cooler climates, but somehow the humans that I call “home” keep calling me back to do more Humaning together.

Mandy Chalynn
Artist, writer, mom of 7, and co-founder of Do Good Humaning.
Through creativity, humor, and curiosity, I help people navigate self-discovery, growth, and community care in a way that feels both intentional and authentic.
I believe creativity is a powerful way to understand ourselves and connect with others, which is key to self-tending and community-mending. At Do Good Humaning, I design practical resources, lead creative workshops, and co-run the Helpful Humaning Initiative (HHI)—a community care effort that turns good intentions into tangible support, from stocking a local community fridge to creating interactive art experiences.
When I’m not creating or planning my next big project, you’ll find me cooking for my crew, fluttering around the garden, skating (badly), or screaming into the abyss because omg wtf.
